Teslin Lake Aug 9th - Northern Shrike

A juvenile Northern Shrike banded on Aug 9th was way ahead of the usual schedule for these birds. Typically they are not seen at the observatories before September so pulling one out of a net was a big surprise. The same day the same net, one of our least productive ones, also caught two male Belted Kingfishers - an adult and a juvenile male, likely father and son.
